Venice International Film Festival is scheduled to be held from August 27th – September 6th 2014. This 71 year old film festival has a side bar which got introduced 11 years ago, and it is called ‘Venice Days’. The recent news about the side bar is about a new cash prize for the winning film.

The organizers of Venice Days yesterday announced the inclusion of $25, 000 as the cash prize from this year’s edition. As per the organizers, this award is been developed to promote the production of independent cinemas during the time of financial crisis.

The 11th edition of the Venice Days is also running in concurrent to Venice International Film Festival. Venice Days has called for new entries from February 5th and filmmakers can submit the movies till June 27th. The announcement of new cash prize is expected to create a huge positive mindset among filmmakers, and the organizers expects an unending rush of films this year.
