‘DAM 999′ selected in Colombia Gorge International Film Festival
Certain films will overcome the fading which happen in the course of time, and such creations gradually grabs a cult status from viewers, audiences and critics. One such movie which got released in the second decade of the 21st century is ‘DAM 999‘ directed by Sohan Roy. The film upon its release in 2011 received highly positive reviews upon its release, and from then it proclaimed its presence in International Film Festival circuit as well. Recently, the film got selection in the 8th edition of Colombia Gorge International Film Festival.
The 2015 edition of Colombia Gorge International Film Festival is scheduled from August 6th – 16th. The festival is one of the growing film events in United States of America, and it is conducted by Angaelica, a non profit organization rooted to enhance arts in the society. The selection of ‘DAM 999‘ in this festival became another feather in the crown for this movie.
‘DAM 999‘ is basically an emotional thriller. The film showcases the story of nine people which represents nine different emotions in the backdrop of a threatened dam. This film ran in to controversies during its release in India, and this was mainly due to the tiff between two Southern Indian states in the name of a Dam.
Things got changed upon its release, as audiences literally took the movie to new heights. The screenplay of the film was selected to the permanent core collection in Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and this cllearly symbolizes the top class nature of ‘DAM 999′.
