The 6th edition of New York City Independent Film Festival is scheduled on October 12- 18, 2015. The film festival aims to screen impeccable movies from all corners of the world, no matter it is a short, documentary or feature. The organizers of the event consider this festival as the celebration of a true independent filmmaker, and they are trying their best to make the event memorable in all means.

The recent news from the corner is regarding the call for submission. Filmmakers can now submit their films to this festival, and the regular deadline is April 30, 2015. Films which are submitted before regular deadline will be entitled to take the advantage of regular submission fee.

The film festival organizers are also conducting a short screenplay contest. The first prize for th screenplay is a 7,500 USD worth camera rental package, provided by Panavision. The best ten screenplays will get listed in the program, and the writers will get full pass to all screenings, seminars, events, parties.
