�Ballad of Rustom� and �Touring Talkies� Made its way to the Oscars in Style

Ballad-Of-RustomThe 86th Academy awards is just months away, and filmmakers all over the world are expecting something big for their movie in the red carpet. In this juncture of suspense, two Indian movies have made its way to the initial shortlist of 289 films. �Ballad of Rustom� by Ajitha Suchitraveera and Gajendra Ahire�s �Touring Talkies� have been shortlisted for the initial list in �The Best Picture� category. The final nominations from this list will be announced on January 16th 2013, and the red carpet will roll on March 2nd 2013.

Ballad of Rustom� made by Ajitha Suchitraveera is undoubtedly a gem of a film. The movie portrays the life of a lineman who lives in an Indian country side. The film uses a 35mm camera for capturing the beautiful locales of Indian country side. “It’s a unique film that we shot on 35mm for aesthetic reasons. It’s languidly paced and captures a very different life from what we’re used to in cities,” said the excited director.

Touring Talkies� is directed by Gajendra Ahire, and the movie portrays the story of traveling movie tents which were quite common in India during the latter half of the 20th Century. The protagonist of the movie is Chandi, and she runs a touring talkie tent called Chandi Touring Talkies. She is struggling due to both financial and personal reasons, and the rest of the movie showcases the attempts of Chandi to pay off her debts to lead a comfortable life.

Both �Touring Talkies� and �Ballad of Rustom� are capable to take Indian movie fraternity to the heights of glory and success in front of global film world. If everything goes well, then it will be party time for Indian Film World which celebrates its splendid 100 years.
